Trio to join TS Galaxy in July

A last minute administrative blunder saw the players’ deal fall through, but TS Galaxy owner, Tim Sukazi has said the players will join up with the rest of the squad during the July transfer window.
Two of the three players, Gaolaolwe and Setsile, have already re-joined their respective clubs, ahead of this weekend’s Mascom Top 8 semifinal ties. Rollers play Gaborone United while Galaxy travel to the Lobatse Sports Complex to face BDF XI.
“They will re-join in July. At the moment, we have arranged all the necessary paperwork to have them re-join their clubs in Botswana,” Sukazi told Mmegi Sport yesterday. While TS Galaxy coach, Dan Malesela downplayed the impact of the three players’ absence; Sukazi said the team had been dealt a hammer blow.
Malesela said it was difficult to judge the impact, as the three had not trained with the team.
“We are okay (in terms of numbers), we just wanted to solidify the team. It is difficult to tell what effect (the failed moves) has on the team, as they had not trained with us,” he said in an interview. However, Sukazi said, the three were going to be crucial to the team as the new boys of South Africa’s First Division chase promotion to the Absa Premiership.
“Their non-arrival has affected us. We cannot replace them as the transfer window is already closed. Our target is to reach the play-offs, and eventually gain promotion to the Premiership,” he said.
Sukazi, a renowned player agent, said he is keen to assist Botswana football, and will take the best talent to South Africa. “It is key that we give Botswana players exposure. The level (of the Botswana league) has gone up. We are one of the biggest players in the First Division and we will give players exposure. We want to be the first South African club to take a Botswana player to Europe,” Sukazi said. Galaxy are ninth in the 16-team league, with 26 points after 19 games, 14 off the pace. The side from Mpumalanga is through to the last 16 of the Nedbank Cup, where they face fellow First Division campaigners, Jomo Cosmos.
