Pascal Mhandu representing State prosecution recently told Broadhurst Magistrate Thandi Baleseng that the matter was ready to be committed to the High Court for trial.

On Friday, Legwale was supposed to appear for mention in which prosecution was expected to commit the case to High court, but the case was postponed to tomorrow (Tuesday) after his lawyer handed-in his sick leave. In Nkhuha’s appearance recently, Mhandu told the court that committal documents in the matter were ready for the duo to be committed to the High Court for trial.

Legwale allegedly hired two Zimbabwean hitmen, Nkhuha and the one still on the run, to kill his then wife Dimpho Meswele but they mistakenly killed her sister Thato, instead.

Dimpho, a teacher at Naledi Senior Secondary School, and Legwale met back in 2006 and in 2008 they tied the knot, but their marriage did not last as they divorced seven years later.

In an interview with The Monitor, Dimpho once said after realising her marriage was not working out in June 2015, she filed for a divorce but her ex-husband, Legwale refused to sign the divorce papers.

After his arrest in February 19, 2018, Nkhuha gave court a confession statement stating that he and Dzichanaka Davie who is still on the run was hired by Legwale to kill Dimpho but mistakenly killed her sister.

Then Nkhuha disclosed in detail how they followed Dimpho and tried several times to kill her up until they mistakenly killed her sister.

However, on his second appearance in court Nkhuha shocked court claiming that his previous confession before court was a lie and should not be used as part of the evidence.

Nkhuna had in his first appearance been asked if he has anything to say and he told prosecution to take its time to further investigate the matter because he has nothing to hide as they were hired to kill Dimpho.
