He is alleged to have been attacked at a certain club in Molepolole recently.

It is said that the thieves made away with his cellphones, tracking and listening devices. Information reaching The Monitor is that the agent might have been using the equipment to spy on other politicians in his party, especially during the time when he was an opposition member. “It looks like the agent was working for DIS during Isaac Kgosi’s time.

In one of the meetings after the current DIS boss heard of the matter, Magosi ordered the police to ask the agent who he was in their department and to name the person he got the equipment from,” said a source.

“It is said that Magosi asked his subordinates to get all equipment from the agents they are taking information from, because this kind of issues tarnish the name of DIS.”

Contacted for comment, the former parliamentary candidate confirmed having been robbed, but dismissed any links with the DIS.

“I was robbed of two cellphones, which have since been tracked and the robbers were arrested.

I managed to track the phones because of the built-in technology and not any DIS technology,” he said.

He said the allegations that some spy equipment was amongst items stolen from him was a lie by those who want to tarnish his name, as one of the people who are vocally supportive of Pelonomi Venson- Moitoi for BDP presidency.

DIS boss, Peter Magosi denied having the politician in his payroll.

“The guy is a politician and I do not know him. He is not part of the organisation and does not have in his possession any of our equipment,” he said.
