Bad Boy Bandit Just Won't Stress

The 27-year-old young man from Thamaga told Arts & Culture that he started pursuing his love for music in 2010 when he was a first-year student at University of Botswana where he was part of a group called The Dynasty back in 2011.

Even though they released the triple threat mixtape during his journey with The Dynasty, Bad Boy Bandit was quick to mention that he has now decided to pursue a solo career.

I have received the best support from people around me and that has motivated me to want to do more,” he said.

The talented young man added that he is not specific to any genre therefore he works with everything and anything given to him.

Elaborating more on his new single, Bad Boy Bandit said the biggest motivation behind the title Don’t Stress Yourself was the hardship he had to endure to reach where he is now.

“Furthermore, I would like to share or rather motivate that one child out there or one person out there who is just about to give up on themselves. They need to hear that they are worth it,” he said.  Bad Boy Bandit spoke with honour that he was given the opportunity to showcase his talent at The Open Mic sessions every Sunday hosted by Selby Urban.

He also revealed that in 2012 he entered a competition called Hub Music series and won the title.

“No one has taken the position from me I am still the reigning champion.”

Given that the music industry in Botswana is not yet at the level of countries like South Africa, Bad Boy Bandit said he is bringing something different and substantial for people to listen to the message behind the song other than beats.

Bad Boy Bandit said Batswana should look out for more of his work.
