Relegation Battle Intensifies

At the bottom, Sankoyo Bush Bucks look set to kiss their Premier League status goodbye following another thrashing over the weekend.
Ngurungu, who are battling financial problems, have in the past few seasons managed to survive the storm and remained in the elite league.
On Saturday, Sankoyo appeared hapless as they received a 5-0 lashing at the hands of title chasers, Jwaneng Galaxy.
With 21 games played so far, they side have only managed to register two victories.
They are languishing at the bottom with only 13 points. Above them, Black Forest have also found the going tough this season. Following a surprise victory over Mochudi Centre Chiefs recently, Magoleng were hoping they would maintain the momentum but found Township Rollers in the mean mood and instead received a 4-0 thrashing on Friday night.
They have so far collected 15 points with Chiefs sitting at position 14 with 17 points.
The battle for survival has now sent some supporters into panic mode as the reality that their teams might be playing in the dusty grounds next season now kicking in.
Recently, Chiefs looked to be on course for survival but the two successive defeats in the past two games have now created a dent in their survival ambitions.
With head coach, Itumeleng Duiker on suspension, Magosi suffered a 2-1 defeat to Miscellaneous leaving their chances of survival very slim.
Of the nine games left for them, Magosi’s character will be seriously tested as they still have to play Rollers, Galaxy, Orapa United and Gaborone United (GU) who have so far proved to be tough sides in the second round.
BR Highlanders did themselves justice when they collected maximum points against another relegation candidate, Prisons XI while Security Systems also eased their relegation woes with an important victory over Extension Gunners.
Systems are now sitting at position 11 with 23 points while Highlanders are 12th with the same number of points.
At the top, Rollers and Galaxy have maintained their good run when they hit four and five goals respectively.
Four points separate the two sides at the top, but the biggest surprise package this season has been Police XI who have been on top form under Mike Sithole.
They beat Notwane on Saturday to move to position three with Kekaetswe Moloi once again on the scoresheet.
