Taolo told Mmegi Sport they want to observe the situation first before determining the best move to save the team from collapsing.

The team’s sponsorship search was cut short by the mine’s closure as they were about to sign a deal with one of the BCL’s suppliers.

“We are going to choose whatever option that would be best for the survival of the club and we are ready to do whatever it takes to save the team, be it selling the club. However, we remain optimistic that the liquidation results will attract investors to the town who will assist us, but if the mine permanently shuts down a significant number of clubs in the town will be greatly affected,” he said.

He further stated that they are still looking for financial assistance as the club presently relies on the Premiership grants.

“As we await the liquidation results, our search for sponsorship is ongoing and I would like to implore all the well wishers to assist us,” he pleaded.

Meanwhile, Majombolo’s coach Dean Mwiinde pointed out that there is room for improvement regarding their performance in the ongoing BTC Premiership league.

He added that all is not lost as they still have plenty of time to work on their weaknesses, highlighting that his main aim is to finish in a better position than last season’s.

“I am impressed with my new players who are new to the premiership league. Although they have not perfectly adjusted yet, they are progressing very well as this is a learning process that takes time. I therefore urge the supporters to cooperate with us as we thrive to finish in a better position,” Mwiinde said.

Nico have won one and lost two of their opening four fixtures, recording a draw in the process.
