They will be performing alongside Kabelo ‘Bouga Luv’ Mabalane and Botswana’s very own Mapetla.  According to the organisers, part of the proceeds will be used to buy jerseys for students at Bokamoso Junior Secondary School.

Addressing the media shortly after their arrival yesterday, the Thobela hitmakers, Thembi Seete, Theo Nhlengethwa and Junior Sokhela, could not contain their glee. “We are very excited to be part of this show. The best part is that it is for charity. The moment they mentioned charity I got excited. It is such a great thing to be part of those contributing for the betterment of livelihoods of students and give them a bright future,” Seete said.

A representative from Bokamoso JSS thanked the organisers for choosing to help their school. “We are faced with many challenges at the school as we have pupils mostly from underprivileged families. Some do not have shoes and uniform and when winter comes, it is a big problem. We thank Waar Was Jy for identifying us as the beneficiaries,” she said.

Waar Was Jy Oldies Series brings superstars of yesteryears from South Africa to Botswana. Last year they brought Bongo Maffin and Trompies. The next event will be held in May 2019.
