Madi Majwana calls out voice actors

The radio drama production team will be hosting auditions on Saturday and Sunday at The Moving Space in Maru-A-Pula School.
“We are looking for individuals with versatile voices that are fluent in both English and Setswana. The script will be provided. You do not have to bring a prepared script from home,” the production manager of The Company@Maitisong, Kabelo Rapinyana said.
He noted that the aspiring voice actors will be given an opportunity to practice their scripts prior to auditioning. “We encourage people to come in large numbers and try their luck.
We are not yet aware of the number of voice actors that we are looking for since some people are flexible with acting over one role”.
Rapinyana noted that the Madi Majwana: Stories From Your Pocket radio drama is a good platform for one to launch their career as it has previously opened doors for the likes of Umbambi ‘Bambino’ Ndiwenyu and himself. “It has previously created employment for young people in the arts,” he said. Lack of finances and resources have restricted the production team to only have auditions in Gaborone. Some of the voice actors will be used for radio commercials.
The radio drama is expected to broadcast on radio stations in December. Rapinyana indicated that they are working on having Madi Majwana broadcast on all four commercial radio stations in the country, which are Yarona FM, Gabz FM, Duma FM and RB2.
