The Reds are unbeaten in the league since January while Tse Nala came into the match after a morale boosting 2-1 win over Mochudi Centre Chiefs the previous weekend. Moyagoleele rested a number of key players with Goitseone Phoko, Dirang Moloi, Gaopatwe Seosenyeng and Alphonse Modisaotsile missing the tie.

The first 10 minutes of the match did not produce any shot at goal as both teams tried to find their feet into the game. In the 14th minute, Tshepo Maikano had his header blocked on the line by Chicco Molefe after corner kick.

Two minutes later, Jerome Ramatlhakwana pounced on a ball during a scramble inside the box and poked it in to give his team the lead.

The Reds made a substitution in the 35th minute, when Thatayaone Kgamanyane came in for Thabang Tlhotsapele as Phillimon Makwengwe added on his attacking power.

Five minutes to the break, Tshepo Malgas laid a pass for Rentse Keakebetse and from outside the box the midfielder saw his shot saved by the goalkeeper while on the other end, Mooketsi Gareonne shot straight at the goalie from a counter attack. Molefe failed to test the goalkeeper from a free-kick as the Reds took a 1-0 lead into the break.

Six minutes into the halftime, Keakabetse pulled a good save from the goalkeeper with a low driven shot following a corner kick. A minute later, Kgamanyane’s shot was parried back into play by the keeper another scramble Ramatlhakwana tucked in past the keeper for his brace. On the 54th minute, Onalenna Molelekwa crossed in for substitute, Botsile Kebaikanye whose shot went just wide of the post. GU added a third goal after Kgamanyane found Ramatlhakwana who beat the offside trap. The striker rounded off the keeper and slotted in to the net for his hat-trick on the 78th minute. Seven minutes to time, Patrick Kabamba added with long strike from miles outside the box as GU bagged maximum points on the night with a resounding win.

“We used a makeshift team who gave account of themselves.

We needed to keep the ball, this was one line up that nobody rated but us the technical team. So we needed to use some of the quick players to run at them,” Makwengwe said after the game.

His counterpart, Chippa Koolese was unimpressed man as he said the defeat was hard to take. “We did not play well, the defense did not turn up today overall we did not play well. They showed something that we did not train on, we just planned well for the game. The defence did not show up today,” he said.
