Minnacle Academy To Host Women's Conference

The event with the tagline, #SheBuiltHerLegacy is expected to host around 350 delegates, comprising practicing women in built professionals and students.
Minnacle Academy executive director, Chandada Lorato Masendu-Kusane, explained that built environment professionals are all professionals involved in building, from planning stage to disposal of the assets. These include among others architects, builders, civil and structural engineers, construction managers, electrical engineers, environmental scientists, mechanical engineers, town planners, project managers, quantity surveyors, real estate practitioners and surveyors.
Masendu-Kusane, who is a built environment professional added that the empowerment conference envisions bringing together all women from the built disciplines under one roof for the first time in Botswana, to hear from the industry and business leaders in Botswana and South Africa.
Presentations and panel discussions will cover the following themes, among others, Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Etiquette, Business and Corporate Law, Personal Mastery, Financial Management, Gender biases and other stereotypes in the industry.
There will be a cocktail dinner at the end of the first day to allow for the delegates to network, meet and greet each other.
Stakeholder engagement with the different government departments and ministries, regulatory bodies, and training institutions related to the built environment is almost complete.
Several sponsors and partners have come on board.
The two-day conference will cost P3,000 and an early bird registration special of P2,700 will run until April 5. Eligible built environment students and unemployed graduates need to register for sponsored tickets to the event.
