Distribution of pornographic material a concern

BPS’s deputy public relations officer, senior superintendent Near Bagali said of great concern is the exchange or distribution of real or simulated pictures depicting children engaged in sexual intercourse, exhibition of their private parts and other immoral activities.

He said as a result of this persistent immoral behaviour, the BPS is now in collaboration with the online social media and social networking service company, Facebook in carrying out investigations with a view to bringing the culprits to book.

“We have identified some culprits surprisingly some of the suspects that were arrested claimed that they did not know that exchange and distribution of such through the Internet constitutes an offence punishable by law,” Bagali said.
