Seboni's Shavuot Agric Eager To Enter The Lists

Seboni, the managing director of Shavuot Agric, is set to be a game changer as she re-invents agribusiness through the modern cost effective technology and relationships, which the nation at large can benefit from and contribute to sustainability in agriculture produce.
“As Shavuot we work through the veins of the ground bringing solutions in agriculture with environmentally-friendly products,” Seboni explained.
Shavuot Agric started operating in 2015. Located in Broadhurst Industrial, Gaborone, they sell agricultural implements and growing media.Currently, the business has a staff complement of four of which some are BUAN graduates.According to Seboni, the great feedback she receives from farmers and the #ABCD, which means Always Bring Costs Down gives her an edge over her competitors.
However, she told The Monitor that she has not had any luck receiving financial assistance from government institutions due to the fact that she is married to a non-citizen.
“If I was to receive financial help from government institutions, I would probably be the next great thing in the country because the market is there, but rather I sometimes fall short on products,” she stated.
In addition, Seboni said because she is a woman doing business in a male-dominated environment, it is usually hard, as people tend to question her worth.
However, that does not discourage her. Instead it motivates her, builds up her confidence and boosts her faith in what she does. She further stated that she empowers disabled people every week at her shop by mentoring them into becoming entrepreneurs like her.
The Local Enterprise Authority (LEA) has also played a major role in the development of Seboni, as they took her as their client in 2015. They gave her coaching and mentoring, business advisory, trade fair readiness, enterprise monitoring and EDT.
“I am grateful for the assistance that LEA gave me as it has helped me grow from where I was when they offered me their services in 2015 to where it is now,” she said.
