The two giants met again last season at the same stage with Rollers winning 4-3 on aggregate.  Jwaneng Galaxy make their debut in a competition that has not been short of thrills and spills.

Botswana Premier League (BPL) acting chief executive officer (CEO), Thabo ‘Stiles’ Ntshinogang said they are ready for the start of the sixth edition.  He said tickets for the matches will start selling this Friday at Web tickets.

Defending champions, Orapa United will on Saturday start their title defence against new entrants, Miscellaneous at the same venue. Gaborone United (GU) will then take on BDF XI before Chiefs and another new entrants, Jwaneng Galaxy lock horns.

Meanwhile, the BTC Premiership continued to record stalemates with three more recorded on Tuesday as the new season reached day three.

But Mochudi Centre Chiefs succumbed to a shock 1-0 loss to Miscellaneous as the race refuses to offer clear candidates early on in the season.  It had initially appeared like it was going to be a high-flying first round of the league when Orapa United scored four goals against Miscellaneous in the first game with defending champions, Township Rollers snatching a 3-0 win over Nico United.

However, following Tuesday matches, the league remains tight. After Orapa United played to a 0-0 draw with Jwaneng Galaxy in the afternoon, Rollers also failed to collect maximum points against Police XI. Mochudi Centre Chiefs  lost by a solitary goal to Miscellaneous. Orapa United and Galaxy match was expected to be a thriller, but both sides failed to find the back of the net with Thabang Sesinyi facing his former employers for the first time.

Galaxy have collected four points from two matches. Rollers’ draw with Police XI put them level on points with Orapa United.  Police XI got their first point of the season, having lost the first two games.  Orapa stayed on top at least for 24 hours after accumulating five points from three games.

Gaborone United and Extension Gunners had the chance to go top last night as they were in action. GU who before yesterday’s game had four points, were scheduled to play against Black Forest in Molepolole. Gunners were also looking to go top after their match against Security Systems yesterday.
