The album, which was released last month, contains songs like Intshwarele, O Setshabelo, and Muya Wami amongst others.

Lyon told Arts & Culture that his latest offering has been well received in the market.

“I am truly humbled by the response this album is getting. In this album, I decided not to do any collaboration because I want to establish myself before engaging anyone,” he said.

“This album is a personal offering. I am however considering collaborations for my future albums.”

Like other artistes in the local music industry, Lyon has encountered challenges in his music career. He said the hurdles he met and still are prevailing to this day are payments.

Lyon said they were invited to shows by promoters, events managers but did not stick to the terms as per the agreement made by both parties.

The other challenge he pointed out was that gospel music was not given the attention and respect it deserves in the country. He said the corporate world does not recognise them and the government is not helping much in terms of availing resources to them. “Yes gospel industry is growing but like I mentioned, it’s not given the attention and respect it deserves,” he said. “The other issue that is of great concern is piracy so our hard work, emotions and money go to waste. We are still beggars on the streets because we are still being robbed.”

Meanwhile, Lyon said he desires, plans and pray to have DVD Live recording for his second album.

Lyon is no stranger in the local music scenes. The talented artiste from Kumakwane started his music career at a tender age where he later tried his luck in the local talent search show My Star in 2011.

He has also featured in a number of local artistes and groups such as Beautitudes Well Gospel group, Gift and The Family and the popular We Must Praise.

Lyon has also worked with Ricardo Boari, Tshepo Lesole, HanC famed with his song Kga Kga. He also takes pride in sharing the stage with renown international artistes such as Spirit of Praise, Pastor Neyi Zimu, Omega Khunou, Rev Benjamin Dube, Solly Mahlangu to mention a few.

The album would be launched soon and it can be bought from him. He can be contacted at Lyon Konkonyane on Facebook and I worship Movement International Facebook page and other social media forums such as Instagram not name a few.
