Confirmed: BFA confirmed Kemoeng's suspension

Kemoeng was appointed BFA CEO last year to replace Englishman, Keith Masters who failed to complete his tenure.

BFA president, Maclean Letshwiti announced the suspension through a media statement yesterday.

“This serves to inform our partners, the football fraternity and all stakeholders and the general public that following careful consideration of a number of recent occurrences with respect to the office of the BFA secretary general, the BFA National Executive Committee has resolved to suspend the secretary general with immediate effect.

“The decision was taken in order to give the secretary general an opportunity to respond to issues raised by the NEC with him to facilitate quick return to focusing on matters of football development,” Letshwiti said through the statement.

BFA finance manager, Susan Lawrence will act in Kemoeng’s absence. The association has seen a high turnover of CEOs over the years and the trend appears to continue unabated.

Sources say there is no way back for Kemoeng, regarded as a shrewd, passionate sport administrator who was at the helm of the Botswana National Sport Council (now Commission) in the past.

There are already names linked to the post even though Kemoeng was suspended yesterday, with some key Letshwiti allies tipped to take over.
