Kweneng East region is made up of Thamaga/Kumakwane, Lentsweletau/Mmopane, Gabane/Mankgodi and Mogoditshane constituencies. Motlokwa said party members in his region believe that Masisi brought back peace and other things that Batswana longed for.

“Our region will support and nominate you because we know that you are capable. You have done well since you became President.

One of the things we are happy about is your fight against corruption, consultation with Batswana, working relations with public unions, media, revival of the entertainment industry and attracting investors to our country,” Motlokwa said as members ululated and sang a Masisi praise song. He said BDP has a history that no one can divorce and as BDP members they should protect that. Motlokwa said people should respect the Constitution of the country and that of the party.  On his part Masisi said: “Ba garona jaaka le mpona ke tsile go kopa tlhopho mo go lona. Ke ipuelela ke le nosi eseng le ope. Fa o batla bokgoba o seka wa ntlhopha.  Le nkopele tlhopho ka bonolo le seka la kukega maikutlo.  Ko Kang le ya go dira se le iseng le se dire mo pathing ya BDP sa go tlhopha tautona ka ngwaga wa ditlhopho”(Fellow citizens, as you see me i am here to ask for your vote.

I speak for myself alone and no one else.If you choose bondage, don’t elect me. Ask others to vote for me and do so with humility. In Kang we are going to do what you’ve never done during an election year). The party president said it is up to the members to choose what they want whether to split their party or to build it.

“The party constitution is the one which is supposed to guide us at all times. I am what I am because of this constitution. Let’s know the roots of our party and why this party was formed.  That alone will help us to love and to be committed to it. That’s the reason why we have caucuses, which bind both councillors, and MPs.  MPs should know that they are the servants of this party because it has made them. Let’s protect our party at all times,” Masisi said.

He said he changed lots of things after consulting Batswana and knowing what they want, and Cabinet ministers were part of those decisions.
