Zebras assistant coach to join Flamingoes

Tsatsilebe sealed the deal with Flamingoes while in camp with the national team here last week. The former Gaborone United coach will succeed Zambian tactician, Dominic Changwe whose contract was not renewed last December.
Former Flamingoes player, Casper Elijah, the team’s caretaker coach, will assist Tsatsilebe. In recent years Tsatsilebe has coached Premier League sides such as TAFIC, Sharps Shooting Stars and Black Forest.
“We have agreed terms with him (Tsatsilebe). What is left is to just finalise the formalities. His mandate will be to help the club win promotion to the elite league in the 2019/20 season. Our chances of winning automatic promotion this season are dead. We will also need a miracle to go to the play-offs,” Flamingoes chairperson, Rebagamang Sekgekge told Mmegi Sport on Tuesday.
Flamingoes are third on the Debswana First Division log with 39 points, seven behind second-placed Morupule Wanderers, with three games left in the season. The team that finishes second in the league will qualify for the promotional play-offs.
“We believe that with his experience he can take the club to the elite league,” Sekgekge added.
Tsatsilebe confirmed that he has held talks with Flamingoes. “I am still looking at their offer. I think I will make a decision sometime next week,” Tsatsilebe said on Tuesday.
He will reportedly be offered a two-year lucrative deal.
Flamingoes reached the promotional play-offs last season but were edged by Prisons XI. The club’s desire was to attain automatic promotion to the Premier League this season. However, the Botswana Ash backed outfit has been inconsistent this season.
The death of Lovemore Murwira and an injury to Alfred Motiki last October is one of the reasons many believe the club has struggled this season. The two players were involved in a fatal road crash late last year.
