Miss Phenomenal founder, Prophetess Tshepo Mariba of Anointed Gates Ministries, said the pageant is based on moral regeneration and patriotism for ‘this beloved country’. She explained that the pageant will showcase young Batswana women’s talent in modelling, self-reliance and confidence based on Christian values.

“This pageant aims at the following aspects; contribution to the development of a girl child at a very young age, enhancing the moral growth and self development of a girl child and assisting in the revival and preservation of Setswana moral value and Christian life,” she said.

Mariba further added that the pageant would empower young women with entrepreneural skills and other skills that will help them uplift their lives. Furthermore, she said even though the pageant will be running for the first time this year, it targets young Batswana who have modelling talent, and are willing to help develop or motivate girls at primary schools. She pointed out that it is important to teach young girls how to cope with life in the current world with Christian and Setswana culture as they both encourage people to have the spirit of botho.

The prophetess told the audience that she was no stranger to beauty pageants as she has previously participated in several pageants, hence the decision to give young women an opportunity to showcase their talents and work together as one through the pageant.

The young women who made it to the top 10 looked stunning in different designs from Mariba’s boutique Angel T Boutique and young talented local designer Gorata Morapedi’s Artcapela.

The clothes from Angel T Boutique included sports wear and glamorous outfits. They varied from dinner dresses, casual wear, elegant short pants, skirts, pants, tops, shoes and handbags. Morapedi’s clothing line also had exquisite designs suitable for different occasions.

The top 10 are Amantle Lekote  (22) from Ramotswa, Cindy Mogorosi (21) from Ramokgwebana, Pelotheri Tsae (25) from Mochudi, Lindah Leshona (20) from Molepolole, Laone Batshidi (23) of Letlhakane, Monosi Moseki (21) from Kanye, Gaamangwe Kgosiyame (21) from Tonota, Kutlo Godisang (21) from Moshupa, Laone Tlhaselo (22) from Otse and Ofina Moitlakgola (21) from Tlokweng

The top 10 contestants showcased their superb dance moves giving the audience a glimpse of what will be happening during the grand finale on November 4, 2016.  Flexy Ville of Baby Wame fame captivated the audience with their spectacular dance moves.
