Local model hosts fashion extravaganza

It will later move to Black Restaurant at CBD from 7pm where there will be a red carpet and media interviews, fashion demonstrations by both the local and international fashion designers then later be closed with an after party and socialising.  Kayenda, who is in his 20s, said the the first event is expected to host over 200 people from all walks of the industry. “It is aimed at gathering fashion gurus, national builders, fashion bloggers, media, fashion graduates, aspiring designers and models and fashion tourists together under one city to acknowledge and showcase, share skills and knowledge of the fashion industry,” Kayenda said.

Fashion experts will be lead the discussion panel together with the audience of local designers and models, national builders, fashion tourists, bloggers, fashion graduates, fashion photographers and local fashion influencers. The discussion topic will be Building a Fashion Brand. There will also be different topics discussed on the day.  The event will attract different renowned international fashion designers such as Maxhosa by Laduma, David Tlale from SA, Sindisiwe Shangase also from SA and local fashion designers like Black Trash Designs.

Foschini Group Limited chain stores members will be amongst the dignitaries who will grace the event.

“The second round of the extravaganza will be held at Kasane. Local fashion designers and international designers will be showcasing their brands. Fashion shows are organised everywhere in the major cities of the world, enabling a chance to see different world cultures. But what’s even more important to fashion designers for these shows is that they can promote their design and craftsmanship.

Fashion houses, fashion Magazines Model Agencies they always use fashion weeks platform to scout talent during the show,” Kayenda said.

He added that he is hosting the event at his home village in an attempt to turn Kasane into a recognized fashion city not known for tourism only.  He added that 45 Minutes With Emmanuel Kayenda has adopted the Art and Home Economics department on an Adopt A School programme with the stationary worth P8,000. He has also pledged to help the students with stationary and mentorship.
