Botswana suffered a 1-0 loss to Angola in the final match of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers a fortnight ago.
The loss sees the Zebras slide three places down as they move closer to 150, their ranking at the end of last year.
The national team completed a win-less AFCON campaign after going six matches without a win in Group I, which included Burkina Faso, Angola and Mauritania.
Angola and Mauritania qualified for the finals, while the Zebras' only point came from a 0-0 draw against Burkina Faso.
The Botswana Football Association (BFA) moved to fire coach, David Bright, installing Mogomotsi 'Teenage' Mpote on an interim basis. The hunt for a new coach is on after the association sent out an advert last week.
