Serenity Greens: A joint to soothe minds

Others prefer a bar counter to unwind over a glass of beer, but the locations sometimes are not serene enough.
But for the residents of Mmapole ward in Mochudi and the surroundings there is a new place named Serenity Greens, which offers a peaceful getaway at reasonable rates.
Mind you, this is not an accommodation resort but rather a place to relax and host an event like a chill session, a wedding or even a birthday party. It looks perfect for those travelling in pairs and the neighbourhood is a great choice for those interested in friendly locals and nature.
The facility manager, Anthony Rasetshwane told Arts & Culture that the venue is targeted towards hosting events like weddings, parties and other social events. Rasetshwane said the place also offers camping for those who want to stay for the night.
“It’s a work in progress so people can’t have any event of their choice as long as it does not interfere with our neighbours because this venue is in the village,” he said.
Rasetshwane said the venue started operating this year and now they have been marketing it ever since. He also said the event has an office and a shelter to keep people’s belongings safe during an event. “We have people who love chill sessions, sip and chill events have expressed their interest to come here,” he said.
He said as a youth empowerment facility they encourage families to come there for meetings and social clubs.
Rasetshwane said going forward they would build accommodation for people who don’t want to drive back after sessions. He added that the place is not just a garden but also a farm as they already have goat farming inside the place. “We expect this place to be fully fletched at the end of this year,” he revealed. Rasetshwane was also quick to state that they take feedback from their clients seriously no wonder they want to improve on the security since some people might not be satisfied with the fence height.
He also said they don’t have standard rates yet because they have realised that most Batswana don’t have money to book expensive venues.
“We sit down with people and we tell them what we offer. We also have a Facebook page we use for marketing,” he highlighted. Rasetshwane encouraged Batswana to visit Serenity Greens and help grown it into the number one destination.
