The annual family event was done with an objective of promoting Setswana culture, games and uniting the nations.

The fun-filled event had people participating in a number of traditional games such as morabaraba, chama, diketo, seifi as well as western games such as double dutch, craze 8, digital gaming and bike riding.

A number of people of different age groups participated in these various games. Those new to the games were quickly taken through the steps by the pundits. It ended up being an affair of exchanging knowledge.

It was a friendly atmosphere that had people relaxed on camp chairs with some enjoying the various games despite the massive high temperatures. At the end of the day, it was more of a picnic set up.  Stalls, which sold different artifacts, were also set up at the event.

Apart from the event putting much focus on the traditional games, entertainment also came in the form of music with a number of disc jockeys and musicians rocking the stage.

The musical part was more intense in the evening as attendants  invaded the dance floor in good numbers.

Ozi F Teddy, Trippy Rhe, Epic, Young Black and Chrome were part of the artists that performed at the festival.

Prior to the event, head of the Play Fest, Mduduzi Madzwamuse said the event aims at educating the world on Setswana cultural practices and conduct in order to curb the xenophobia in Southern Africa.

“Play Fest introduces our international guests to Setswana games, as well as participate in their rgames and activities, all under the notion of Each One, Teach One”.

Diplomatic missions from different countries were also invited to the event.
