G/West Residents Get Memorable Independence Treat

The company decided to give back to the Gaborone West community through entertainment. BIHL decided to start the event by showing those who did not have a chance to join the BOT50 festivities at the National Stadium that were broadcast live on a large display screen.
Meanwhile, the children were treated to free snacks (ice-cream and popcorns), face painting, drawing and had a chance to play on a jumping castle.
After the National Stadium event, the show kick started with energetic performances from Wizards of the Desert with their famous song ‘Mokento’ pulling in a small crowd of children dancing to the song.
The excited youngsters danced off while others watched their icons in admiration as they cheered on. As that was not enough, the queen of Kwaito Kwasa, Slizer and her talented dancers lit the stage up with their usual energetic performance. Slizer, who is also a resident of G/West, did not want to disappoint her fans and gave her all to the audience.
A new kwasakwasa kid-on-the-block, Sphamandla did not want to be left behind as he made a huge entrance.
The young man, who also grew up in G/West, proved that indeed their location was rich with talented musicians. The young man, whose crew had already staged their magnificent dance performance, entered the stage atop a car showcasing a number of brilliant dance moves before his spectacular set.
King Line also tried to keep up the momentum with his poetry, but he seemed to have not thrilled the audience who could not wait for him to get off stage.
BIHL did not want to be left behind as they had numerous performances where the employees sold out their services to the public through music and drama.
The company conducted a quiz where they gave away gifts to those who answered correctly. When addressing the gathering, BIHL CEO Catherine Lesetedi-Letegele said the group decided to bring back to the community by celebrating the golden jubilee with them.
She added that they had also decided to involve Gaborone West artists for the event so that they could also benefit from the golden jubilee festivities, as the community enjoyed their performances.
She further pointed out that BIHL was joining other parts of the country in celebrating its success stories.
Lesetedi-Letegele said they were celebrating unity, peace and tranquility that have been reigning in the country for years since gaining independence.
“We have seen our country growing over the years. It is time to be grateful for our country’s success. Botswana has developed immensely and we hope it will continue to grow and develop in the next decade,” she proudly said.
