Police were the first to break in the 10th minute with Mpho Kgomo. The winger lacked awareness and quickly took a shot wide when he could have calmed down and picked a spot.

On the quarter hour, Bhekuyise Kunene sent Lynoth Chikuhwa against the goalkeeper with a textbook defence-splitting pass and the striker coolly plucked at the far post.

A minute later Waitse Modiko set Chicco Molefhe up on the left. His goal-bound rocket was parried out at the near post.

In a fight for a comeback, Police had the better of the attacks but failed to make them count.

Keaketswe Moloi missed a sitter in the 40th minute. The goalkeeper parried Kgomo’s cross into his head, and Moloi failed to redirect into the empty net.

He made amends three minutes later from a similar combination. Kgomo posted a cross from a different side, as Moloi pounced from the blind side and equalised. His goal was enough to send his side level at the break.

Police returned from the break with the same tempo. They pressed Miscellaneous in their half and missed two clear chances in the opening minutes of the second stanza.

Miscellaneous punished the cops 10 minutes into the match when Chikuhwa climbed higher and redirected Mooketsi Gareonne’s corner into the far post.

The goal weighed Police down and the hosts defended with purpose until Mponang Mponang 67th minute own goal threw spanners into their works.

The law enforcers piled pressure from all angles. In the 75th minute, Hendrick Moyo picked Moloi with a pass in the box and the lethal striker sent his supporters into delirium.

Moyo stuck the last dagger in the last minute after receiving a pass in the box. He dazzled past the defenders before hitting the bottom far corner.

Police coach, Michael Sithole was happy with the concentration from his players. He said they were growing with each game.

“We are responding extremely well and if we continue like this, the sky is the limit. I think we will be a team to watch next season,” he said.

Oitsile Koolese said his Miscellaneous side failed to play according to the plan. “Our defence was easily dismantled, and our plan failed,” he said.
