Miss Botswana Bikini rebrands

According to the founder and organiser, Goratamang Monwametsi, the Botswana Bikini Model beauty pageant, the third season of the pageant has shown growth after partnering with Miss PAN African Queen International.
Monwametsi stated that they decided to host tis year’s edition early because the queen will need time to prepare a project for the Miss PAN African Queen International beauty pageant.
She said the theme for this year’s edition is ‘Alcohol and Drug Abuse. The coronation of the Queen will be held at Hotel Labama in Block 6, Gaborone.
“The pageant’s objective is also to help fight abuse of drugs among the youth in the country. We have realised that drug and substance abuse are a concern to the country, and we want our queens to make an impact in that regard,” she said.
The 27-year-old Monwametsi, who is also a model and designer said preparations for the final are going well. However, she indicated that they have struggled to find sponsorships this term.
“We have had sponsorship challenges but I can tell you we are on course and there will be prizes to be won.
We are currently busy with rehearsals for the Grand Finale,” she added.
Monwametsi indicated that they would be other titlesthree such as Miss Popularity, Miss Best Ramp and Miss Elegance. She also highlighted that the contestants will be wearing the same designer bikini but different colours known as African print.
Meanwhile, the organiser explained that they decided to re-brand the beauty pageant by removing the ‘Miss’ title and call it Botswana Bikini Model.
‘This is because people were saying they keep confusing the pageant with Miss Botswana, so we decided we should re-brand,” she explained. Another reason, she said, was that they would like to have different categories of the pageantry that include Miss Teens and Miss Little.
Tickets for the grand finale are selling at P100 general and P250 VIP.
