The Fashion Show – (All Things Safari)

Over the past few years, Mascom Derby Fashion Show proved to be a success in showcasing talent in Northern Botswana. This platform provides an opportunity for up - coming designers to showcase their work during the biggest horse racing event in Botswana. In an effort to unearth Modelling and fashion design talent in the Northern region, Mascom will host a workshop to train and share trade knowledge of the fashion industry in collaboration with ‘Fashion Without Borders’. The workshop will be led by industry experts, Mothusi Lesole local designer extraordinaire and South African-based high fashion model, Thabang Mmolotsi who is experienced in multiple disciplines in the modelling industry.

The Fashion show will be part of the race day programme and will feature 10 designers with amazing talents who will showcase eight to 10 garments each. Twenty models will be selected from the model workshop to showcase their talents. The theme of the fashion show being “All Things Safari” inspired by the wild life, fauna and flora found in Maun, considered as the heart of tourism in Botswana. The theme is open to interpretation and we encourage the Mascom derby spectators to come dressed in their most adventurous outfits.
