BusinessWeek: Kindly expound on the Platinum Credit Card product

Chijoro: Stanbic Bank has collaborated with Visa International to launch a Stanbic Bank Visa Platinum Credit Card as part of our continued efforts to meet the needs of our clientele. This card is an extension to the existing range of credit cards offered by the bank, which include Visa Silver and Gold credit cards.

BusinessWeek: Who qualifies for the card and how does it work?

Chijoro:  This card caters for our private clients and does come with benefits of convenience. This card enables one to travel and shop around the world with ease as the card is accepted worldwide on Point of Sale, online and on all ATMs with VISA logos. We also urge those who are not banking with Stanbic to come and get the card.

BusinessWeek: What are the benefits of having this card?

Chijoro: The goods that one purchases with the card are insured against theft and accidental damage from 90 days to 12 months depending on the size of the product. We also double the original manufactures warranty for up to 24 months from the date the item is purchased as long as one produces proof of slip. We also offer free international travel insurance for up to $60,000, which can cover the medical expenses, lost goods and legal insurance in cases of emergency. We also have credit protection plan whereby we will automatically settle your balance on your card up to an amount of P80,000 in the unfortunate event of death and permanent disability and cover incase of temporary disability.

A platinum credit card holder also automatically qualifies to have a priority pass card, which has access to about 850 VIP lounges across the world. We believe that this card is appropriate to our clientele as the beneficiaries can also have secondary cards to enjoy the same benefits.

BusinessWeek: What other projects are on pipeline?

Chijoro: Recently Stanbic upgraded into online banking to ensure effectiveness and efficiency. We have also upgraded and revamped mobile banking app and made it more appealing for our clientele. We believe that introducing the app is going to make the life of our customers easier and can assure that we already have a customer base using it.

We are also in the process of migrating debit card to chip’n pin and are starting to invite customers to get their new cards. We have also launched several savings products, which include group savings and individual savings. Our mobile banking app, which we recently launched, has been well received in the market as we have already taken it to major events in the country.

We do all these to give you the banking convenience and experience that our customers need, to thank them for their loyalty and show our appreciation for banking with us and ensure we remain the financial services partner of your choice with the aim of moving you forward.
