Zebras win at last

This was the team's first win under interim coach, Mogomotsi 'Teenage' Mpote as they showed a dominant performance. The Zebras last won in June 2018, when they beat Eswatini 2-0 in a COSAFA Cup tie.

The home applied pressure early on but went to the break goalless, despite numerous goal scoring opportunities.

A few minutes in to the second half, in search of goals Mpote pulled out Thatayaone Kgamanyane for Tumisang Orebonye. The change sparked life in to the team's attack and it paid dividends in the 59th minute. Thatayaone Ditlhokwe gave the Zebras take the lead tucking in from close range following a corner kick.  Segolame Boy doubled the lead after a flick on from Thero  Setsile, with the Township Rollers attacker beating the goalkeeper to the near post to send the small crowd into wild celebrations. With the Zebras surely home and dry, Mpote gave debut to Sharps Shooting Stars' Allen Ndodole and Gofaone Mabaya of Orapa United.

' We did not do anything special.  We just have to play the modern trends, that's what the world is doing right now.  So why should we look for something else for this team,' Mpote said after the game. His counterpart, Gavin Jeanne was an unimpressed man but has high hopes for the return leg. 'It was tough, they have a good team and technically better. We played well but were let down by mistakes. We couldn't keep the ball like they did. But this is football anything can happen. We will try to win the game at home,' he said.
