Motsepe-Radebe, Malcolm X put on visa requirement

The declaration for their visa requirement was made last week Wednesday (April 17, 2019) by the Minister of Nationality, Immigration and Gender Affairs Ngaka Ngaka.

Their declaration appears on the Government Gazette, Government Notice No. 247 of 2019.

Radebe is the older sister of South African businessman Patrice Motsepe and First Lady of South Africa Tshepo Motsepe.

Radebe and Malcom X have been accused of colluding in the recent ruling Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) presidential elections with an aim to topple president Mokgweetsi Masisi against former cabinet minister Pelonomi Venson-Moitoi.

Last week South African president Cyril Ramaphosa sent his International Relations Minister Lindiwe Sisulu to Gaborone to smoothen relations with Masisi.

Interestingly the meeting with Sisulu happened a day after Masisi’s administration decided to slap Radebe and Malcolm X with visa requirements.

The two will now be required to apply for visa if they travel to Botswana. South Africans are generally not required visa to enter Botswana.

Other prominent South African persons required to apply for visas to enter Botswana include ultra leftist leader of Economic Freedom Fighters Julius Malema and some politburo members of the party.
