Boko told Mmegi this morning that government is “playing dirty”.
“The government is paranoid. They’re trying to derail our campaign. They just want to play dirty,” Boko said in short interview.
The Botswana Unified Revenue Service (BURS) had allegedly been working around the clock to get its hands on the helicopter and aeroplane unveiled over the Easter holidays by Boko, on suspicions that the aircraft were irregularly brought into the country.
Boko denied the allegations and said his lawyers were on the case.
“We complied.
“I will be at the airport shortly and should know what their issue is.
“I’ve dispatched an attorney to go there and find out but I too am going there.”
Although Boko has ongoing matters with his tax affairs, observers said the issue around the aircraft was separate as he did not own them.
