The event will run from 7pm–10pm, and is expected to attract Botswana’s creatives ranging from poets, musicians and dancers.  Hosted in collaboration with AFDA Botswana (AFDA BW College) - a film, TV and live performance school, the Arts Performance Night is a platform where all art forms will be blended to cater for all art lovers featuring Gauta Eyman, Fifi Afrika and Amogelang Moatlhaping just to name but a few.

“This event is the first of its kind at Rail Park Mall and therefore the success of the upcoming event will guide us in deciding whether we will host it again next year,” Rail Park Mall marketing executive Keletso Sebogodi said.

She said their partnership with AFDA was simply inspired by the fact that the school continues to contribute significantly to the creative industry both locally and internationally.

Sebogodi added that the event is about engaging young, fresh artists who are making their mark in the industry and assisting them to put their art out there more.

For her part, Rail Park Mall centre manager, Bonyana Masu said the mall’s aim is to start small and see how it can grow, so that a bigger platform can be created for more artists to be engaged and to make a sustainable living out of their talents.  Masu noted that their partnership with AFDA as an arts school will come in handy in making sure that the event looks artistic, especially that they will be providing technical support and publicity, including performances and live streaming of the event on their sister company Maru TV.

Alongside Gauta Eyman, Fifi Afrika, Amogelang Moatlhaping at the Rail Park Mall Arts Performance Night will be acts by Lame Pusetso, Anthony Molosi, BNGDA Youth Orchestra, 2 Change Movement and many more who will spice up the day’s activities.

Rail Park Mall, which offers a one-stop, family-friendly and easily accessible shopping experience in Gaborone and usually known as a hotspot for young and old shopping has successfully maintained its position as Botswana’s favourite destination mall for over eight years now. Throughout the year the mall hosts various activation events driven by the loyalty of its patrons.
