Goals rain as Premiership reaches business end

 

The games kicked off with an afternoon fixture between Police XI and Sankoyo Bush Bucks in Otse.

Striker, Keaketswe Moloi scored a hat trick as his side, Police XI thumped Sankoyo 5-0 and threw them deep into the relegation zone. The other two goals came from Hendrick Moyo and Tapiwa Gadibolae. Moloi has now drawn level with Township Rollers’ forward, Joel Mogorosi at the top of the Golden Boot race charts.

They have both scored 15 goals with four matches remaining. In Serowe, Orapa United continued their resurgence following a dip in form in the past month.  With the help of Lemogang Maswena’s hat trick and one goal apiece from Kobamelo Kebaikanye, Onkemetse Powe and Mbatshi Elias, Orapa United thrashed Miscellaneous 6-0 to go third on the BTC Premiership log.

Defending champions, Rollers were not to be outdone, as they also turned up at the UB Stadium in a high scoring mood against relegation candidates, Prisons XI. Segolame Boy scored a brace with other goals coming from Lemponye Tshireletso and Tumisang Orebonye with Rollers running out 4-0 winners.  With the win, Rollers climbed back to the top of the log with closest title rivals, Jwaneng Galaxy facing Mochudi Centre Chiefs tomorrow.

In other matches played on Tuesday, BDF XI took advantage of Extension Gunners’ off the field problems to beat them 3-1. Attacking midfielder, Keeagile Kobe scored two goals while defender, Pelontle Lerole scored Matebele’s third. Gunners’ goal came from Baokeditswe Talane.  Notwane bounced back to winning ways as goals from Ishmael Amponsah and Koos Matlala ensured Gaborone side end up 2-1 victors against BR Highlanders.
