No BFA contract talks yet for Mfolo

Mfolo joined the BFA in 2017 on secondment from the Ministry of Tertiary Education.
He is on a two-year deal.
He succeeded Ookeditse Malesu who had taken over following the change of guard at Lekidi Centre where Maclean Letshwiti replaced Tebogo Sebego as the association’s president. Mfolo was hailed as an astute administrator with the right qualifications to steer the BFA in the right direction.
This week, he told Mmegi Sport that they have not opened talks regarding an extension. His contract is left with less than six month to run. “We are still to meet with the president to discuss the way forward. He has been busy of late. I suppose we will discuss after the FIFA Congress,” he said.
FIFA holds its 69th congress on June 5 in Paris, France. Mfolo said he will make his decision regarding his future at BFA, after meeting Letshwiti. “I will listen to what my current employer’s (BFA) expectations are and I will make a decision based on that,” Mfolo said.
Sources said Mfolo’s stay would be down to the board (BFA NEC), where there are mixed views.
Although Mfolo is a technocrat, he knew the moment he stepped into Lekidi Centre that he was entering a politicised environment, and therefore, decisions are not based entirely on administrative issues.
He will look to survive in a position that has witnessed a high turnover of personnel in the last decade with Tosh Kgotlele, Duncan Kgame, Judge Mookodi, Keith Masters, Malesu and Kitso Kemoeng, all arriving and leaving in a huff.
