Chillstep Sundays celebrates bloggers

The event, which aims to promote art and Chillstep music, occasionally promotes other sectors of creative industries such as fashion.  This will be the first time blogging is celebrated at the event.

“If you haven’t noticed, at EDM Live Projects, we celebrate a lot of things, talent, industries that are given a backbench yet contribute so much to our country.  We chose bloggers for this month because they are not appreciated enough, yet they share so much meaningful beneficial things through writing and photography,” Drew Chadhall the head of EDM Live Projects said.

Just like art pieces and crafts that are normally exhibited at the event Chadhall stated that there will be a screening of the blogs on the projector that will be showing various blogs and works done by bloggers.

“We have over 10 bloggers that submitted their blogs.  You would have to be at Stanbic Bank Piazza to find out which bloggers we are hosting.  We got so many enquiries from outside the country as well, however we will be slightly selfish and keep it local for now,” he said.

With Chillstep celebrating bloggers, Chadhall noted that this does not mean that the event has broken ties with celebrating and promoting arts and artists.

“The core mandate of Chillstep Sundays is exhibiting art.  We are first and foremost a youth in arts exhibiting movement with more focus being on fine arts and craft, so they will always be around at every single session.  However, we will keep inviting other markets that contribute to that industry.”

Chillstep Sundays has also introduced a number of new elements to spice up the event.  They recently introduced a practice whereby artists are supposed to create an artwork on the spot during the event so the attendees can have an art studio experience.

Another new element is the gaming section.  “We will have snooker tables, gaming slot machines, board games, darts, play station and more. This is to encourage team-building amongst the youth, interaction and clean fun.  We spend so much time on our phones we need to connect as humanely as possible.”

This will be the first time Chillstep Sundays is hosted at Stanbic Bank Piazza after a long while.  Resident DJs such as Casper The DJ, Dhers Republiq and Flex Swavey will be entertain attendees with Chillstep music.
