The Btv’s Flavadome presenter unveiled her other talents in singing and poetry during a show called A Night With Sadi directed by the talented Tefo Paya. Dikgaka is not new to stage having shared the stage before with Kalanga balladeer, Lizibo.

With Sadi’s weekend performance, she wanted her fans to know her on a deeper level, and did it through poetry and singing.

Her performance left the few people who came to see the flamboyant show inspired. Sadi who made her mark as one of the best TV presenters in the country has always emphasised that music has always been part of her from a younger age. She began her performance reciting a few poetry lines about her journey, saying that she was proud of her progress and was ready to show the world that she’s an all-round entertainer.

Being in that Maitisong theatre space allowed Sadi to explore all other aspects of entertainment as she put emotion into her performance.

For someone who is quite new to the spoken word genre, Sadi seemed to take it like a seasoned poet, who could never be discouraged by nerves.

Her spoken word carried elements of storytelling, theatre and pop characterised by rhyme, repetition, improvisation and word play.

The young woman from Molepolole then switched to singing and her voice was indeed captivating.  Lorato Rantao, who is the younger sister to the lively songstress Kearoma Rantao, together with Chedza opened the stage for Sadi with a beautiful soulful tune.

Sadi sampled various songs from both local and international musicians, but she really came out when she sang Rihanna’s Half Of Me.

“You saw me on the television hanging out my dirty linen, you’re entitled to your own opinion,”  the lyrics of the song went.

The likable and confident Sadi emphasised that some people often have an opinion about her when they really do not know what she is truly all about.

After a Night with Sadi, the TV host is longer trying to find her path in the music industry but has now found her sound and voice.

Even though she has not yet reached peak level, there may be hope for Sadi after all and just like most she has to start from the bottom and grow as a musician.
