After suspending her on Saturday, the faction swiftly changed locks to office door to deny her access as well as move to confiscate the Union cars the two were using.

According to resolutions of the National Executive Committee (NEC) held on Saturday, the Union wants the NEC to investigate allegations that Mogwera misled the Union.

It is said she alleged that the Board of Directors of Babereki Investments as a collective, are not aware of transactions that involved investments, loans in subsidiaries and associate companies, when in fact there is evidence of documents she signed indicating her involvement in decision making.

“The NEC believes that Mogwera in her capacity as the president of BOPEU and or representing the NEC thus being in possession of the Forensic Audit report, which was sanctioned by BOPEU, deliberately refuses to share the report. Additionally, NEC members think that situation creates discomfort around her as a leader,” reads another resolution.

They also resolved that by choosing to use the Auditors to make oral presentations instead of a written report with findings that is contrary to tradition, norm and legal focus.

The NEC members also lamented that Mogwera took the National General Congress (NGC) to Kasane without consideration of the financial implications of such as move, which resulted in financial distress for the Union.

There is another accusation that she failed to call a special congress by February as directed by the Kasane congress.

To deal with the problem, NEC wants power of attorney issued to handle transfers of four regional chairpersons who were slapped with transfers last Friday when they were supposed to attend the disputed NEC meeting.

In the case of Marenga, he was suspended with immediate effect pending investigations following allegations that his contract expired in 2017 and has not been renewed.

He is also accused of signing a development agreement with Quality Builders without NEC resolution. Marenga allegedly did not submit the document to NEC for ratification.

The other claim is that he is involved in Union politics by publicly campaigning for and against other NEC members thereby bringing cloud of credibility of the office he holds.

The Monitor has been reliably informed that one of the factions was busy preparing court papers to file an urgent application today.
