Music was released after a nine-year break from his last album release. Shanti Lo told Arts & Culture that his album was more inspired by what he went through.

“When everything else disappoints or fails, music is always a comfort,” Shanti Lo stated as he talked about his experiences.

Music being the forth offering to his fans, Shanti Lo revealed that in its making with his production team, they had already accommodated the thought of having collaborations with different local artists. But because the album was more personal, he decided to go solo.

Shanti Lo said during the hiatus, he lost he long time manager, Soares Katumbela.

“I went through a lot of emotional trauma, and that is one of the reasons why I delayed to release the album.”

However, Shanti Lo showed his gratitude to his team who made it possible for her to get interviews and perform at events.

Shanti Lo’s rich history as a musician dates back to his childhood. At age nine he was a member of the Watoto band. The group was a combination of Batswana and South African musicians.

In 2000 after gaining experience as a back-up singer for a few local artistes, including his mom, Shanti-Lo landed a two-year recording deal with Stona Records, which produced the album Koi. Koi was a mixture of the local brand of Kwaito. His album, Shanti-Lo was released under So Hype Records in 2005. This album produced hits such as Boloi.

Over the years, Shanti-Lo has worked on different projects with a number of artists across all genres including the late Duncan Senyatso, and Ikajazz pioneer, Ndingo Johwa. Almost a decade later since the release of his last album called Lorato, it is interesting to see how things will play out with his new offering.
