The five-time Grammy award winning South African male choral group that sings in vernacular in the styles of isicathamiya and mbube will headline the event.

The group that was formed in the 1960s has a dense cultural heritage and it is evident in its prolific career.

The local act supporting the initiative will be singer and songwriter, Mpho Sebina and the enchanting Sereetsi and The Natives, both of who are of international repute.

However, given that this initiative is for charity, the first and only benefactor for this year will be the Botswana Gender Based Violence Prevention and Support Centre, which is a Kagisano Society project that was established in 1998.

The centre operates in various places across Botswana such as Gaborone, Thamaga, Gantsi, Kasane, Masunga, and Selebi-Phikwe, just to mention but a few.

At a recent press briefing, chief executive officer of the GBV centre, Lorato Moalusi said their purpose is to respond as promptly and fittingly as possible to issues of Gender Based Violence (GBV), particularly Violence Against Women.

Available at the centre are a plethora of services that include counselling, temporary and emergency shelter for women and their children who are in eminent danger, and community outreach education about the pandemic.

There are also several clinical services like HIV testing, STI screening and treatment and provision of contraceptives.

Client Services Executive of Pantone Reign, Tsholo Kgotlele added that they take this as a platform to advance financial aid, and to invite the rest of the country to take part in this propitious act of giving where possible.

She further stated that different support groups would be adopted each year since this will be an annual event. Ticket prices vary, tier one will go for P400, tier two will go for P700 and lastly floor table tickets for 10 people with services will be sold at P10, 000.
