The comedy festival featured Botswana’s KLO, Roy, Thapelo Malani, South Sudan’s Akdans, Uganda’s Don Andre while Zimbabwe’s Clive Chigubu was the host.

As host, Chigubu proved to the audience why he is a multi-award winning comedian as he joked about everything that came to mind even though he came in now and then to introduce the different acts for the night.  The comedians’ work was made easy given the impressive attendance as they threw rapid-fire jabs and rib-cracking jokes.

Given that Malani is visually impaired, he did not allow his disability to stand in the way of his talent and left the crowd in stitches. Bush from Zambia turned out to be the crowd’s favourite, as he recited jokes he incorporated and shone the spotlight on the South Sudanese who were in the crowd to support their own.

Most of the comedians who came through to the stage made reference to their dark skin colour. Chigubu requested one of the South Sudanese in the audience to stand up for everyone to see him and make a joke saying he looked like lemon cream biscuits.

The annual event gives attendees the experience of top-notch stand-up comedy offering different forms of the art. One of the attendees of this successful event, Mphoentle Sithole who had  company said they do not regret having gone out on a cold night just to make it to the event.
