Sharing Nude Pictures Not Funny

What for? What message are you trying to pass on by sharing such a video? It is obvious that in such set ups, the only motive of course will be to embarrass the person, who due to challenges she must have faced at the time, did something out of character.

It is disappointing that there was a grown man who saw the unfortunate incident as an opportunity to ridicule the woman by recording and allegedly sharing the video of her stripping and rolling naked on the ground. Sir, what if that woman was your sister, your daughter or your wife? Would you still find it funny?

It is good that the police are currently question someone in relation to the recording and distribution of the video; perhaps this will discourage irresponsible individuals from abusing social media and poking fun on social media at other people’s expense. Social media is a good development as it enables users to create and share content or to participate in social networking, and it can be done in a responsible fun way, but not using insults, and unnecessarily humiliating another person, just for likes.

Whomever shared that video, did they ever stop to think of the damage they might cause the poor woman? Or worse, what might result after realising that the whole world might have seen her naked  video.

Suprisingly, the person who is suspected to be the one who recorded and shared the video is an educated person, who has a responsibility of moulding university students into responsible adults. If it is true, how would the said lecturer discourage students from engaging in unbecoming behaviour, which have the potential of causing immeasurable harm to others?

It is not the first time that this publication condemns the abuse of social media by certain individuals, but the abuse seems to be growing.

People seem to run to social media to resolve any situation, and in the process, elderly people are insulted, ridiculed, and humiliated, all for the likes, and trying to surround oneself with fake friends!!! Let’s use social media responsibly, buse it to our advantage, and not for the purpose of bringing others down.
