Locals Artists Captivate Mothers' Attention

The well-attended event dubbed ‘mama love your-self’ was aimed making women to begin to love and appreciated them-selves. The show started off with a poem from one of the aspiring local performers. The poet took mothers by a storm and gave them a positive message to carry back home as food for thought.
Another item was from Ultra Cord Melodies (UCM) acappella group. They gave a sizzling performance with their trademark high-level energy and sweet melodic voices. They kept the crowd on their toes. UCM acappella group literally got the mothers to curl and twist their bodies in all styles. The performance gave them a peace of mind away from their hectic schedules.
DJ Cue who was on the ones and twos took a turn interchangeably with his exclusive mixes from different genres of both local and international music making his performance topnotch in giving the mothers a memorable night to remember.
The long-awaited moment came when the versatile and sensational Afro pop musician, Lizibo appeared in the midst of the crowd with a song called nkabo ke le kae. The song was a dedication to all the mothers and a way to thank them for their daily guidance and words of wisdom.
He then took a moment to give gratitude to his mother for her superiority and profound love.”I am here because of my mother’s care, love and support and I can never thank her enough for all of her contribution to my upbringing. One thing I got from my mother is the way to love, sing and appreciate others and I am going to sing to the entire mothers out here because it’s your special day,” he said.
The multi-talented musician added that in his 35 years in life, his mother taught him to always have a plan and above all to trust in God. He put in the icing in the cake by performing ke tshepile wena and the mothers sang along. Lizibo also sang Matshidiso by Kgotla Kgaodi to appreciate mothers but changed the original lyrics of the song to fit the moment.
Lizibo played other songs such as Wakanaka and Motho wa Mme which emphasised that men should spoil their women rather than abuse them. The Kalanga Afro pop star concluded his performance with his famous hit, Malebeswa. Chatting to Showtime after his performance, L:izibo explained that the mothers received the show well in Francistown. He said the city groomed his musical career and it is his turn to give back to the city by performing this side numerous times.
The musician also revealed that he is currently working on his third album which will be sang in Ikalanga vernacular language titled Jaga lo Bala meaning, a man should look presentable.
“There is a possibility of working with international artists and amongst them is the renowned South African musician Ringo on the album,” he revealed.
