Zebras Enjoys Smooth Sail Against Seychelles

The Zebras made their job easier when they won 2-0 at home a fortnight ago.

Away from home, Joel Mogorosi once again showed the value of experience when he netted one of the goals in Seychelles on Saturday. Two other goals came from Jwaneng Galaxy attacker, Thero Setsile.

Caretaker coach, Mogomotsi Mpote did not make too many changes to the Zebras side that won the first leg. However, defender, Mosha Gaolaolwe returned to the side after missing out in the first leg. Two Premiership giants, Township Rollers and Jwaneng Galaxy dominated the first line up with five players each.

Observers point out that the heavy score line is expected to give Mpote’s charges motivation as they head to the next round to meet regional powerhouses, Angola. The Zebras have never qualified for the tournament since its inception. The result is also expected to boost them ahead of the COSAFA Senior Challenge showdown against Bafana Bafana in Durban.

Meanwhile, South African based players,Lesenya Ramoraka, Simisane Mathumo and Onkabetse Makgantai are expected to join the squad in Durban. Botswana has never won the COSAFA tournament. The country’s best result was reaching the finals under Peter Butler few years ago.
