Standard One twins sexually assaulted

The incident happened when the two Standard One sisters were returning from school. They did not return home after school at their usual time.

The mother grew suspicious when it got late and followed their trek to school. She found they had long left at their usual time.

She went to report the girls missing to the police.  While she was at the police station, she received a call from home notifying her some woman from the neighbourhood dropped the two girls off.

She apparently found them on the way. The same evening when the mother bathed them, she discovered the girls experienced pains in their private parts. When she checked further she found they had been sexually assaulted.

She went back to report the matter to the police. Senior Superintendent Agreement Mapeu said they took the twins to Sekgoma Memorial Hospital for medical examination.

He said the doctors confirmed the two had indeed been sexually abused, and the girls were treated at the hospital.

Mapeu said they were still on the hunt for the culprit.  He said, however, it is proving difficult because the young girls cannot identify the culprit.

“They only know some man took them, and they can’t explain further, but we are doing everything we can to find the person who committed this terrible offence,” he said.
