In his last court appearance, a former soldier, Simba Mampori pleaded with court to consider sending him for an assessment claiming to be shocked by things that he does and later put him into trouble.

Mampori is accused of murdering four women, all alleged to have been his girlfriends, at the time of the murders. They were killed in separate incidents.

Still on the matter, State Prosecutor, Tlotlang Balatlhwa told court that Mampori was scheduled to go for psychiatric assessment at Sbrana Psychiatric Hospital on August 8, 2019.

Mampori did not turn up for mentioning as he had gone for medical attention. Magistrate Lentlhabetse Willie of Extension II Magistrates Court further remanded the accused in custody until May 29, 2019.

Mamphori was recently arrested in connection with double murder incidents, which occurred five days apart. He was suspected to have killed a 34-year-old woman in Bontleng, Gaborone and a 39-year-old woman of Molepolole.

He also has two pending murder cases, which occurred in 2016 and 2018.
