Davewave goes solo

The rapper, who is currently in the country, will be launching his solo career locally before he takes it to Australia and the rest of the world. “I am working on an extended play (EP) with an Australian label Dough Related Production that I am signed to,” said Davewave.
He will be releasing his debut single About You this month which will be followed by an EP on a date yet to be announced.
“Going solo does not mean that I am leaving RTT or something of that sort. I am still part of the group. We even have an unreleased album that we are finishing up. I am looking forward to work with someone locally who can help us master the album”.
He noted that his style and approach to music as a solo artist is different from the one presented by RTT which is a fusion of afro pop and hip hop. “I try to be versatile and play around with different sounds. I am limitless and create my own style”.
He has been playing around with a number of beats from different artists such as such Lorato Rantao and American rapper and designer. He posted some of the performances on Youtube.
Davewave, who also trades as a DJ, said he is not well known as a solo rapper despite being part of the famous group RTT that means he has to pull up his socks and convince people that his music is worth it. “But I love the support that I am getting from Batswana even though I am based in Australia”.
The rapper, who is also a follower of local rap music, said that he would love to work with Channel O award winning rapper Zeus on his project. Apart from Zeus, Davewave said he would also love to work with other local rappers.
He noted that he will also be performing around as a DJ and he is looking forward to work with DJ Fauz as they have collaborated in the past.
