BIHL Group and BIHL Group CEO, Catherine Lesetedi-Letegele, have both been short-listed for the prestigious Africa Investor (Ai) Capital Markets and Index Series Awards. The Group has been short-listed in the category, “Best Performing Company Award” and Lesetedi-Letegele for “CEO of the Year.”

The awards ceremony, which Lesetedi-Letegele will attend to represent the group, is part of an invitation-only summit by Africa Investor that will be hosted from September 19, 2016 onwards at the NASDAQ Stock Market in New York City. It will be held alongside the UN General Assembly to engage investors and analysts. Said BIHL Group Chairman, Batsho Dambe-Groth: “This is a phenomenal honour for all of us at BIHL Group and across our family of businesses. Congratulations to the entire BIHL family, our Strength in Numbers, on making BIHL a business that is not only a proudly Botswana success story, but indeed one of international acclaim.”

Ai is a leading international investment and communications group.

They work to recognise Africa’s best performing stock exchanges, listed companies, investment banks, research teams, regulators, socially responsible companies, fund managers and institutional investors, amongst others. This year, the Summit’s theme is, “Showcasing Institutional-Grade African Investment Opportunities.”

The Group as well as Lesetedi-Letegele have received a number of high profile accolades over the years. Lesetedi-Letegele is a proud recipient of the Sanlam Eagle Award, 2010, and CEO Magazine Award (country, regional and continental award) – nominated the Most Influential Woman in business and government in 2014. The Group has received awards largely relating to design and publishing excellence from PricewaterhouseCoopers for Annual Reports for a number of consecutive years.  As a leading financial services group in the region and one of the largest companies by market capitalisation on the Botswana Stock Exchange, BIHL Group’s growth continues to impress.

“Accolades are by no means the reason we do what we do, but they are a truly humbling recognition of our efforts, and this short-listing is indeed true cause for celebration. We are particularly proud of Catherine for her nomination too, as she continues to do us proud and cement her standing as a leading corporate figure in Botswana and beyond, further adding to our Strength in Numbers,” concluded Dambe-Groth.
