BB's 25th northern fair opens tomorrow

BB regional manager north, Eileen Van Der Est told Mmegi that the logistics for the trade fair are complete.
She said that some of the exhibitors have finished setting up their stalls.
Van Der Est said that the five-day trade fair will be one of a kind with plenty of activities for both the exhibitors and the public in general.
She further said that the event would be bigger and better, with some activities such as
business network forum, business-to-business platform, cheese and wine tasting, family fun race, golf tournament and many others, on the bill.
She said that the mandate behind the trade fair is to expose different companies and organisations to new business mediums and for them to showcase their products and services to people.
Van Der Est also said that they have attracted only local businesses with a total of 130 stalls booked for the trade fair.
She added that this reflects a growth of the trade fair in numbers and expansion of its local business sections.
“There will be no international countries taking part during the trade fair and this is the first time we have encountered such because normally some foreign companies from across the border often participate in the trade fair. We don’t know why they decided not to come and maybe it is out of their personal reasons that they did not accept our invitation,” she said.
This year’s event will be celebrated under the theme ‘Innovate, Integrate and Industrialise’.
She said that the theme speaks to local businesses to invent new technologies, promote innovation for new industries using indigenous raw materials and thus create employment for Batswana in general.
Van Der Est revealed that BotswanaPost and Botswana Ash (BOTASH), just to mention but a few, sponsor the event.
The BB Northern Trade Fair will take place from May 29 to June 2, 2019.
