Modibe, HHP's widow in war of words

This was after Sengadi accused Modibe of slandering her name and submitting HHP’s name to the SAMA’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
Modibe told Showbiz that Sengadi did not have the right to submit HHP’s name to the SAMAs. “After all, she is not HHP’s wife, she can take me to court if she wants,” he said. Modibe added that she must not go around doing things in the name of Jabba because HHP’s family was granted leave to appeal the court's previous verdict that declared Sengadi as Jabba's legitimate wife. Modibe, popularly known as Sbizo, said he only learnt through Facebook of HHP’s nomination. “Who is she? She is not entitled to do that, even Universal Music Group didn’t know about this,” Modise said.
In a statement issued on Tuesday afternoon, Sengadi said she submitted all the relevant paperwork to the SAMAs in her capacity as Jabba’s customary wife. I applied and submitted for this award when I realised this would be the perfect opportunity for him to be recognised and keep his memory alive,” read the statement.
Sengadi said she did not want to leave Jabba’s family out of the loop like Modibe said.
“I decided to email his mother Theriso Tsambo on May 21, 2019, before the news broke in the media and on social media,” Sengadi said in the statement. She further said that Modibe merely handled administrative duties in his time as HHP’s manager. She said Modibe should see the award as Jabba’s contribution to the South African music and entertainment industry.
“This award had nothing to do with Lekoko Entertainment,” she said.
Modibe was earlier quoted by Sunday World Newspaper condemning Sengadi’s actions and accusing the latter of being a ‘ghoulish clout chaser’.
“Modibe appealed to the SAMAs committee to listen to their conscience and not allow Sengadi to receive the award on behalf of HHP,” read the Sunday World Newspaper article. The SAMAs will be held at Sun City on Saturday where the rapper, real name Jabulani Tsambo, will be honoured with a SAMA Lifetime Achievement Award. HHP died on October 24, 2018.
