Retro night up against the chills

Event coordinator, Vince Mosimanewakgang told Arts & Culture that they aim to celebrate beautiful old school music.

He added that the event will also take revellers back in time when life was simple when music synonymous  with life. 

He said it will remind them of music legends like the late Brenda Fassie, Kool and The Gang, Marvin Gaye to mention a few

“We are anticipating a good number of folks to be in attendance to experience the music of many years ago from a number of renowned DJs from South Africa, Zimbabwe and Botswana.

This is a lifestyle event and our primary audience is music lovers and mature folks. 

The music, the colourful drinks, the ambience, the costumes and the décor setup will be part of the recipe, creating an environment suitable for the theme,” he said.

He said the retro event presents eight renowned DJs to dish out the most sought-after songs that they grew up listening to.

He said that particular event brings back sounds from those golden years that the carefully selected DJs will play based on their popularity and their technical prowess when it comes to mixing and blending in songs.

Mosimanewakgang said they were confident that the audience will be wowed and be given the value for their money.

This event will be graced by both local and international DJs such as Bob Mabena, T-Bose of Khaya FM, Jazzy Dee both from South Africa and Ottis Frazer from Zimbabwe.

Local DJs who will be performing at the event include DJ SKI, Dolphus Nasha, Pee Master, McJon Mosenene, DJ Armstrong amonst others.

The genres that will be played at the event include funk, soul, disco and many more.

He further said revellers must not worry about the cold weather, noting that they have it covered, as there will be heaters to keep the cold at bay at the venue. 

He added that they will also provide free WIFI at the event.

He said Jenny Internet sponsors the WIFI. All who bought tickets will be given a six-pack of beer or cider of their choice.

Tickets are sold at P250 per person for a standard ticket, VIP costs P1,500 each and it includes drinks, food and secure parking.
