The couple has  been cohabiting for the past 11 years and Ragoko  from Lefhoko settlement, summons  the father of his three children to court and made an application that the asserts they acquired together,  which include among others their rented homes in Jwaneng and Sese, another one in Lefhoko settlement and Sesung be divided equally. She also indicated that they have three ploughing fields, a tractor and two vehicles among other households which she wants  equally shared between them.

Ragoko told court that Lesetedi chased her and the children away from their home and found a new girlfriend and stopped taking care of their children. “I have worked tirelessly for the assets and spent my youthful days with this man so I will not go empty handed. I will ask this court to divide the properties so that I can be able to survive with my kids,” she told court. She said Lesetedi had promised her marriage and they had saved for their big day but things has now turned sour and they no longer share money from their rented houses. During trial Lesetedi was not interested in responding to the application and the accusations levelled against him but rather told Kgosi Mpaesele Itumeleng that his attorney has filed a letter with the high court to appeal the decision of continuation of the trial. However the letter in question was just a copy which indicated his grounds of appeal and was not even filed with the high court. The customary court was in possession of a letter from the customary court of appeal which ordered Raphalane court to continue with the trial without interference of the defendant’s attorneys.

The plaintiff’s witnesses Moroba Pati and Ramalutu Ramabetola also testified that they knew the defendant to be a long time sweetheart to Ragoko. Kgosi Itumeleng advised Lesetedi about the implications of not cross-examining the plaintiff and her witnesses saying he will not have time to question them at the next stage of trial. He further advised him to make a follow-up of alleged letter at the high court and prepare for continuation of trial on September 15, 2016. ends
